Kurt and Renee Suzuki, along with the Oakland A’s, will host Kidney Disease Awareness Day on Friday, June 15, 2012 to benefit the newly created “Kurt Suzuki Family Foundation.”
The Kurt Suzuki Family Foundation supports the scientific research of chronic illnesses - specifically kidney disease research - and encourages and promotes healthy lifestyle choices. The Suzukis set up this foundation because of their personal connection to kidney disease, as Kurt’s father is a kidney cancer survivor and Renee’s sister suffers from FSGS (focal segmental glomerulosclerosis).

The A’s will be offering a special fundraising ticket offer for this game by donating $5 from each Field Level ticket ($26) purchased through the link below to the Kurt Suzuki Family Foundation.
During the game, Renee and other players’ wives and girlfriends will sell “mystery” A’s autographed baseballs, host a silent auction of autographed memorabilia and gift baskets filled with different A’s players’ autographed and favorite items, and sale of limited edition Suzuki “808” Maui Thing t-shirts ($25) behind section 121. Proceeds will benefit the Kurt Suzuki Family Foundation.
Before the game, Kurt will host a group of children who suffer from Nephrotic Syndrome & FSGS, as identified by the NephCure Foundation, for a special on-field batting practice visit and meet and greet with A’s players. One child will also have the opportunity to throw out the ceremonial first pitch.
For more information, or discounts for groups of 25+, please contact Josh Feinberg at (510) 563-2205 or email@example.com. Please note, only tickets purchased through this special link will have a fundraising component.
